Apple Banana Fritters
We had a few bananas that were starting to turn brown, so I knew it was either time to bake or get ready to throw them out. I'm not a huge fan of bananas on their own, but baked, or in this case, fried inside of something - well okay then! So, here's my first crack at making fritters.
I started by chopping up some apples and bananas.
Next, I combined the fruit with some milk and beaten eggs.
After adding the flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, and salt mixture, I was left with this horrendous looking substance. Mmmmmmm!!!???
Into the hot Canola oil you go! I started to feel like a county fair vendor just then as I fried up my fritters (yeehaw!) Good god I'm a dork.
After a few minutes in the oil, the fritters turned golden brown. I fished them out and drained them on paper towels. To plate, I simply dusted them with powdered sugar and viola! Fair food! Ta-dah!!!!!
