♥ Happy Valentine's Day! ♥
Long time no see! How is everyone!?!? Sorry I've been away so long, but like Claudia @ CookEatFret, I too have been trying to lose some weight. You see, there is a side effect of being a food blogger... can you guess it? Yes, a touch of weight gain. Why??? Because we love food SO much! But there is also a very good side of being a food blogger. Since we DO love food so much, which includes loving almost ALL food, we also love a lot of things that are good for us. So honestly, it isn't that hard making delicious dishes that are good for you too and lighter on the calories, it just takes a bit of a change of mindset and a little break from the deep fryer. :-) So lately I've been busy with going to the gym 5 times a week and going to school the other 2. That has left me with little time to do much else besides cook dinner, shower, homework, a little TV, and sleep. But I'm starting to get a handle on this new schedule of mine and I realize that I need to just pop in here any chance I get, so here I am!
So what am I here to share with you today? Well none other than my V-Day Popcorn! This was my little gift to Mark for Valentine's Day, one of my most favorite holidays. I love V-Day because it's filled with happiness, love, sweetness, dorkiness, and cheesiness and those are all the things that make me... well me! Mark always takes me to dinner and sometimes a movie. This year we're going to see He's Just Not That Into You and then have dinner at Parallax in Tremont. I know I am going to LOVE the movie and the dinner. But every year, I in turn do something for him and it's always corny and cute. This year I got him a big huge Valentine's Day card and made this popcorn for him.
This popcorn is super simple and you can riff on it any way you like. Just use up some of the stuff you have in your pantry from past baking adventures. Anything goes! Just try and throw in something colorful or at least pink so it looks festive for the holiday! (Yes men, this IS a holiday. Grrr!)
So I'm here to wish you all a very Happy Valentine's Day and please take 15 minutes to make this delicious popcorn and snuggle up with your Valentine tonight and eat some together! (or with a beer like Mark did! haha) Love ya!!!
Wow -- I definitely am going to have to make that popcorn, it sounds (and looks!) pretty much amazing :)
