FOODIE Review: Condado Tacos ~ Beachwood, Ohio

Both tacos with "Sweet Lucy" shells: Left: Ooey-Gooey  Right: Surf 'n Turf

This past Wednesday, I had the pleasure of checking out a newly opened restaurant in the Pinecrest shopping center in Beachwood, OH called CONDADOIt's a build-your-own taco joint that has been operating since 2014, originating on North High Street in the Short North of Columbus, OH.  They've since added more locations in Columbus, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and now in Beachwood!  Lucky us!  They just opened their Beachwood location in November of 2018.

The inside of this restaurant was fun and colorful, covered in street art featuring our great city of Cleveland.

Not only can you build your own taco at Condado, but they also offer some suggested taco combinations on their menu if you'd like their cooks to take the reins and please your palette with their creations.  I'm glad I took that route when I ordered the "Ooey-Gooey": queso-blanco, pollo (chicken), black beans, cilantro-onions, and dirty sauce and the "Surf 'n Turf": queso fresco, rice, ghost pepper steak, shrimp ceviche, lettuce, onions, roja salsa, and dirty sauce.

I made sure both were served in the "Sweet Lucy" shells, which are hard shells wrapped in soft flour tortillas and held together with a glue of queso and guacamole.

SO delicious and I loved the crispy texture of the hard shells as I took each bite but without the mess because the soft tortilla kept everything held together.  I was thrilled with both of my selections and can't wait to go back and try more of their combinations.

For me, two tacos were the perfect portion to feel satisfied and full, but not stuffed.  I could have eaten three on a really hungry day, though.  Guys, order three or four on a hungry day.

I was very impressed with not only the flavors, but the amount of filling in each taco.  They do not skimp at Condado and their servers take the time to really ask what you think of the food so they can bring that feedback back to their kitchen.  I really thought that was cool.  How else can you make sure your product is of the highest quality and your customers are getting what they want?
